Return to Troia
We have the Crystal, our armor works again, and Troia owes us access to a room full of treasure. This seems like a reasonable time to stop by the castle.
Don’t board the Enterprise yet. After the Crystal errand, boarding advances the story to the next dungeon. Finish your local shopping, storage, and treasure collecting first.
The Treasury
Speak to the clerics. Once you have permission to enter the treasury, go to the eastern wing’s room with three stairways. Take the left stairs to the B1F treasury guard, answer Yes, and descend to B2F.
There are eighteen chests, arranged in two rows of nine. Here they are from left to right:
| Position | Top row | Bottom row |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | HiPotion | HiPotion |
| 2 | Remedy | Remedy |
| 3 | Ether1 | Ether1 |
| 4 | Ether2 | Ether2 |
| 5 | Elixir | Ag Apple |
| 6 | EchoNote | EchoNote |
| 7 | Equipment: BowsEquippable by Cecil (Paladin), Rydia (both forms), Rosa, Cid, Palom, Porom, Edward, FuSoYa. Power 15; Acc 40%; Strength +3. Attack element: Projectile. Requires a bow-and-arrow pair. | Ice arrows ×10 |
| 8 | Fire arrows ×10 | Ice arrows ×10 |
| 9 | Fire arrows ×10 | Bolt arrows ×10 |
Sort your inventory after collecting everything. Separate stacks can make a nearly full bag look even worse than it is. Keep the Equipment: BowsEquippable by Cecil (Paladin), Rydia (both forms), Rosa, Cid, Palom, Porom, Edward, FuSoYa. Power 15; Acc 40%; Strength +3. Attack element: Projectile. Requires a bow-and-arrow pair. even if Cecil is quite happy with his sword again.
You can also visit Edward before leaving. There isn’t another equipment reward to collect from him, but don’t you want to check up on the person whose music just saved our lives?
One More Visit to Fat Chocobo
Store obsolete armor and unnecessary duplicates. The nonmetal outfits have done their job, so you don’t need every spare Leather piece occupying a slot. Keep the equipment you are actually wearing, useful claw alternatives, healing and MP recovery, ItemRevives a KO'd ally. Can appear as loot from a FloatEye and Eagle formation southwest of Baron., and camping supplies.
Also keep these accessible for the next dungeon:
- EquipmentEquippable by Rydia (both forms), Rosa, Porom. Def 7; Eva 0; Mag Def 10; Mag Eva 9%; Wisdom +10. Resists Lightning., if you have it stored.
- Equipment: BowsEquippable by Cecil (Paladin), Rydia (both forms), Rosa, Cid, Palom, Porom, Edward, FuSoYa. Power 15; Acc 40%; Strength +3. Attack element: Projectile. Requires a bow-and-arrow pair. and a usable arrow stack for a returning party member.
- EquipmentEquippable by Edge, Yang. Power 0; Acc 80%. Attack element: Fire. and EquipmentEquippable by Edge, Yang. Power 0; Acc 80%. Attack element: Ice. for Yang’s elemental options.
- WeaponEquippable by Cecil (Paladin). Power 40; Acc 99%; Will +3. Attack element: Holy. Keep for the forging quest; it cannot be stored with Fat Chocobo. and the Equipment: ShieldsEquippable by Cecil (Paladin). Def 2; Eva +24%; Mag Def 1; Mag Eva 1%; Will +3., even if you find replacements that look more impressive in one statistic.
Try to leave eight to ten slots available. We are about to collect several pieces of equipment and change the party, which is exactly when playing inventory Tetris becomes least entertaining.
Ready to Leave?
Heal HP, refill MP, buy any missing supplies, and make an ordinary save outside. The white chocobo restores MP, not HP, so don’t mistake that visit for a full night’s sleep. On the other hand, you can use cure to heal all the way up, then let which chocobo restore your MP.
The earlier airship detours remain useful opportunities, but this is not the moment to start a new flying tour. Finish what you can reach locally. Further optional flights will have to wait until after the next story sequence.
When ready, board the Enterprise and continue to the Tower of Zot.
