Masamune and the Crystal Floors
Use a Cabin and save in the B7 left cave before descending. From B8 onward, Exit and Warp do not work. You can still walk back to B7, but don’t spend your last recovery item expecting a one-command escape afterward.
EvilMask uses Wall, so direct offensive spells can come back at you. Quake can damage it through Wall; physical attacks are also useful. Red D. wants Ice damage, not Fire. Against Behemoth, return to controlled physical offense and healing since spells will trigger counter.
These fights award plenty of experience, but they’re not necessarily better than the B7 hall if you’re looking for relaxed grinding. Long battles and expensive recovery count against the apparent reward.
B8: Fuma and the Floating Sword

Boss Fight Prep
Ogopogo opens with two Big Waves. Start at full HP and have Rosa ready to heal the party as soon as the opening finishes. Cecil attacks, Kain can AbilityKain leaves the battlefield, then lands on his target to attack. While airborne he also misses party healing; wait for recovery before jumping if his HP is low., and Edge attacks or throws WeaponEquippable by Edge (Throw only). Power 80; Acc 99%. Attack element: Projectile. Consumed by Edge’s Throw; not an equippable hand weapon.. Have Rydia use recovery items or Parry rather than inviting offensive-magic and summon counters.
Watch Kain’s timing: he doesn’t receive party healing while airborne. If he needs the next MagicWhite Magic in Tellah's post-trial menu, costing 40 MP. Its effect has not yet been tested on this run., leave him on the ground long enough to receive it instead of immediately selecting another AbilityKain leaves the battlefield, then lands on his target to attack. While airborne he also misses party healing; wait for recovery before jumping if his HP is low..
Keep recovering after later waves. A party at half HP is not necessarily safe just because nobody is in yellow yet. If Rosa needs MP, have another character give her an Ether2 or Elixir so she can keep healing.
Collect WeaponEquippable by Edge. Power 65; Acc 99%; Agility +3. Reusable Item spell: Haste. and pair it with WeaponEquippable by Edge. Power 55; Acc 90%; Strength +5, Agility −5, Vitality +5, Wisdom +5, Will −5. Reusable Item spell: Armor. on Edge. Replacing Equipment: Ninja swordsEquippable by Edge. Power 48; Acc 90%; Strength +5. changes stat bonuses as well as weapon power, so expect more than one Status number to move. Heal before returning to the main route.
B9: Elixir and Whistle
Descend to B9. Check the eastern chest for Elixir, then the southern chest for Whistle as you follow the stairs and connecting route onward.
Whistle calls Fat Chocobo, giving you portable access to stored items. Use it to organize the bag if needed. Keep access to storage separate from recovery: the bird is not a Cabin or a new save point. You can leave Gysahl in storage once Whistle is serving your storage needs.
B10: The Last Two Chests
Collect WeaponEquippable by Edge (Throw only). Power 80; Acc 99%. Attack element: Projectile. Consumed by Edge’s Throw; not an equippable hand weapon. from both the east and west chests. That’s the final ordinary treasure floor. Continue through the connecting path toward B11, or retrace to B7 if you’re ready for a break, supplies or some level grinding.
Before the final approach, check that you’ve finished, well everything you want to do. The next page collects the preparation and grinding advice in one place; the page after that is the ending.
