Woglinde

After the loooong cut scenes, you’ll have control of Shion again aboard the LocationShion’s employer and a recurring investment name. ship LocationThe Federation cruiser used for the opening mission.. There’s a save point toward the bottom of the screen. Use that, then talk to everyone. Don’t forget to go up the stairs in the back and talk to Janice.

Return to the KOS-MOS Simulator

Now go talk to the guy repairing the dive unit if you want to return to the simulator and get your present. If you do, you can walk quietly by holding R2 to bypass enemies.

Head to the place where you saw the little girl during the cut scene and destroy the large red box Janice calls the Red LocationShion’s employer and a recurring investment name. Box in the former boss room. It reveals a standard blue treasure chest; open that chest for the Key ItemFound in the blue chest revealed by destroying the Red Vector Box; unlocks the real-time A.G.W.S. Just so you know, you can use your A.G.W.S. to avoid taking damage in this area. It’s almost invulnerable to these guys. You can exit the simulator anywhere you see the E.V.S. spinning symbol, just like the place you entered. After you’ve done whatever amount of leveling up you want, exit and head through the door on the far right.

Explore the Woglinde

Talk to everyone en route, and don’t forget to look at the map in the first hallway. This will help orient you so you can see where you are going. Keep moving through the conversations until Allen catches up to you. After that conversation, head down and slightly left and talk to the guys by the containers. You’ll be able to blow this stuff up and get goodies later, so find out where it is. ;)

Going straight up the corridor from there, you’ll pass SidequestSegment Address 18 is opened with Decoder 18.. Be sure to examine it. You can open Segment 18 in the full tracker at any time.

The next blue door is Shion’s room. Head inside and save, then pick up the Key ItemGive to Captain on Woglinde from the desk (). Do not rest yet. Head back out and down the left corridor. At the end of the hall, go through the door and talk to everyone.

Emails and the drill tutorial

Eventually you’ll have control again. Talk to everyone and head out the door at the top of the screen. If you are following along with Emails and Investments, return immediately to receive the first Hack This Email and reply I Will Help You. This trigger is easy to walk past while continuing north.

On the next screen, talk to the guy on the left by the drill. He’ll explain how to clear the debris. By way of thanks, he’ll add the Key ItemUnlocks Driller when used from Key Items at an E.V.S.-enabled save point; permanently missable if Holgar's Woglinde drill tutorial is skipped. to your inventory so you can use the Driller later. Destroying all five pieces without missing also awards a ItemTarget: 1, HP recovery/Mid (150 HP); missing at least once awards a ItemTarget: 1, HP recovery/Low (50 HP) instead.

On the next screen up, the first door on your left contains a save point. Be sure to talk to everyone. Just past that is a little alcove to your left. Walk around it to receive Miyuki’s Secret Email, then reply I Read Your Secret E-Mail.

Sergeant Swaine and Segment Address No. 7

A little farther up, you’ll find another map. Talk to everyone here, then go up one screen. You’ll meet CharacterFederation soldier associated with Decoder 7., who’ll tell you about his research into SidequestOne of eighteen numbered locked containers opened by the matching Decoder.. Ask him to tell you about his research and you’ll receive the Key ItemFile with data on all Seg Addresses and Decoders. Be sure to examine the door by him. That’s SidequestSegment Address 7 is opened with Decoder 7.. You can open Segment 7 in the full tracker at any time.

Foot race and A.G.W.S. Hangar

A little farther up, two guys will challenge you to a foot race. The race is easy. Just run away, around the large column at the top of the screen, then come back. Touch the ItemTarget: 1, HP recovery/Low (50 HP) before they touch you, and you’ll get to keep it (). This is kinda important later on.

A little farther on, go left and up to reach the ShopWoglinde A.G.W.S. Hangar is a shop at Woglinde. Opening mission only; unavailable through E.V.S.. You can talk to the people here and buy supplies, or go up into the hangar and use the simulator. Don’t waste your money on armor, though. They’ve only got what you already have now. Save at least 500G for the investment Email after the bridge.

By fighting in the simulator, you can level up, earn good Battle SystemBattle reward spent on Tech Attacks or character statistics. for your Tech Attacks, and receive a ItemTarget: 1, HP recovery/Mid (150 HP) for every enemy you defeat.

Strategy Hint 1

Unless you really need to, don’t use the A.G.W.S. Shion will magically replenish both Health and Ether at the end of every battle. You may need the A.G.W.S. later, so you’ll want to make sure it’s not totally destroyed. If you learned the EtherShion: Adds one Boost level to one ally. Ether earlier, it’s very helpful here. You can Battle SystemBattle resource used to insert an eligible character's turn into the order. on the enemy’s turn to get two turns in a row, which lets you aim for the point-bonus Battle SystemTurn-based slot that cycles through blank, Critical Rate Up, Boost Gauge Up, and Points Up states.. You can earn a bunch of Battle SystemBattle reward spent on Tech Attacks or character statistics. and Battle SystemBattle reward spent to extract Skills from equipment. from these battles.

If you’ve leveled up Tech AttackShion: Beam Ether Tech Attack against one enemy., you can use the Triangle, Triangle, Circle combo to do lots of damage here. If you didn’t level grind a lot in the LocationThe opening virtual combat simulator and an E.V.S. return destination., this is the next best place to do so. In the Tech Attacks menu, use Battle SystemBattle reward spent on Tech Attacks or character statistics. to change the speed from LW to HI, then change the wait from A2 to A1 and finally A0. Level Tech AttackShion: Beam Ether Tech Attack against one enemy. to at least Tech 03, and preferably Tech 05. If you do this, you’re pretty well guaranteed to have the power you’ll need later on.

Strategy Hint 2

Even though you and the enemy take turns if you attack, you can Guard multiple times until you get two turns in a row. If you must use your A.G.W.S., only call it on a turn where you have the red circle or Golden Egg. If you have anything else, continually Guard until you get two actions in a row. After calling it, Guard on red and attack on the Golden Egg. This will ensure you get a minimum of 36 Battle SystemBattle reward spent on Tech Attacks or character statistics. and Battle SystemBattle reward spent to extract Skills from equipment. each time.

Spend Shion’s points

This is probably a good time to explore a few menus. You can use the Ether menu to learn new Ether abilities and transfer most of them to other characters. If you learn a new Ether, don’t forget to Set it. You can use the Characters menu to unequip weapons, armor, and accessories. After you’ve unequipped the Character AccessorySearch Eyes (Display Enemy information) accessory, use the Skills menu to extract SkillDisplays enemy HP information. and Set it.

You have a limited number of Ether abilities and Skills you can equip at one time, so come back here when you need a different combination. To start, I recommend EtherShion: Low HP recovery for one ally or enemy. and Goodbye, plus SkillDisplays enemy HP information. so you can leave the Character AccessorySearch Eyes (Display Enemy information) unequipped.

Go back to the Characters menu and select Shion. See the option called Use Battle SystemBattle reward spent on Tech Attacks or character statistics.? This is one of two places where you spend Battle SystemBattle reward spent on Tech Attacks or character statistics.. You can raise attributes here. The other place is the Tech Attacks menu, where you level up individual attacks.

I recommend staying in the A.G.W.S. simulator long enough to prepare Shion like this:

I know it’s kinda boring and repetitive, but trust me, you’ll be glad you did this, and it really is the best way to learn the level-up system. Don’t forget to Set Tech AttackShion: Beam Ether Tech Attack against one enemy. and Tech AttackShion: Lightning Tech Attack against one enemy. in the appropriate HI slots. To put this in perspective, the first time I played this game, I didn’t do this and had a very tough time dealing with the Gnosis when they showed up. This time, as I’m writing this walkthrough, I didn’t use a single ItemTarget: 1, HP recovery/Low (50 HP) or ItemTarget: All, HP & EP full recovery.

Segment Address No. 16 and the bridge

When you’re done playing in the A.G.W.S. Hangar, head back toward the foot-race area and take the upper-right exit. You’ll find SidequestSegment Address 16 is opened with Decoder 16. in the hallway. Examine it , then continue right and down, going around the circle until you find the elevator. You can open Segment 16 in the full tracker at any time.

Take the elevator to the bridge and speak to the Captain. On the way back, read Miyuki’s Email and save the Sprinkle attachment immediately. After you leave the elevator, you’ll hear that your package is waiting.

Before collecting it, walk near the glass-cased plant to trigger the first investment Email. If you have 500G, reply I Will Invest in LocationShion’s employer and a recurring investment name. to invest in Vector-Tenan Pharmaceuticals. The eventual attachment and discount are covered on the Emails and Investments page.

Go directly to the A.G.W.S. Hangar and claim Miyuki’s package. The worker behind the desk adds the Character WeaponShion’s only weapon; its BXS cartridges change the status effect of Shock Blade. to your inventory. You won’t be sorry! Once you’ve got that, play around as much as you like. When you’re ready to move on, return to Shion’s room, save, and rest.
