Xenosaga Episode I Side Quest
Optional Returns and Rewards
This page collects optional work that is easy to lose between story destinations. Segment Addresses , Robot Parts , and Email chains have their own pages because each is large enough to need one.

Why the Fish Detector route matters
The Fish Detector sequence feeds three systems at once: it yields ordinary beach catches, recovers the Engagement Ring , and earns Decoder 8 . Decoder 8 opens the Elsa Segment containing Robot Part Left Leg , which advances the Erde Kaiser chain. That is exactly the kind of side quest worth doing even if fishing for a Med Kit does not ordinarily thrill you.
