Xenosaga Episode I Walkthrough

Final Battles and Ending

Point of no return

Use the final save point and farming corridor from the previous page before crossing this boundary. Equip SkillPrevents Confusion. or SkillPrevents all status effects., Damage -10, and your best physical or Spirit damage options. Put EtherShion: Medium HP recovery for all allies., EtherShion: Adds one Boost level to one ally., and Quick or EtherZiggy: Raises Ziggy's speed by 50 percent. on the party members who can use them. If chaos is coming, set Etherchaos: Halves one enemy's HP recovery. and Etherchaos: Attacks all enemies and clears their status effects.. Keep ItemTarget: 1, Revive KO'd ally with HP max, ItemTarget: 1, Removes all Physical Status Effects, ItemTarget: 1, Removes all Mental Status Effects, and your strongest HP and EP recovery items ready.

Boss Fight Prep

Approach the large structure in the middle of the screen and watch the cutscene. Shion, KOS-MOS, and chaos enter the battle.

Albedo Begone

I’m going to assume you want to play the next game in the series too, so I’m guessing you’ve leveled up here AND that you have EtherShion: One-use-per-battle 9,999-damage attack against all enemies, earned after completing the Robot Part quest.. I waited until I got all my guys all their Skills, Ether things, etc., then I went on.

Since you probably have EtherShion: One-use-per-battle 9,999-damage attack against all enemies, earned after completing the Robot Part quest., just use it and waste him. If you don’t have it, be creative. ;)

Without the giant robot shortcut, stay out of your A.G.W.S. units. Demonic Gaze Soul takes half of its target’s maximum HP and gives the damage back to Albedo, which is a much uglier trade when the target has several thousand FHP. Use Etherchaos: Attacks all enemies and clears their status effects. to erase Demonic Illusion and Spirit Rage, keep everyone above half HP, and beat him down with physical and Spirit attacks.

You’ll learn a little bit more about Jr.’s background.

Perception = pain? Weird.

“Feel my pain for yourself.”

What a dumb battle cry. lol. One EtherShion: One-use-per-battle 9,999-damage attack against all enemies, earned after completing the Robot Part quest. and he’s gone. There are parts of this cutscene that are just too corny.

Boss Fight Prep: The Last Stand

You go directly into the final battle. Heal the damage left from Albedo immediately, restore Shion’s EP if necessary, and remember that EtherShion: One-use-per-battle 9,999-damage attack against all enemies, earned after completing the Robot Part quest. is available again.

Albedo can show me the world. “Shining, shimmering, splendid! Tell me, princess…” Oh wait. Sorry. I got sidetracked. Once Albedo is beaten, he summons a massive Gnosis-reactor monster, and KOS-MOS switches to maximum output mode. Because apparently Kevin from LocationShion’s employer and a recurring investment name. was a freakin’ sociopath. “OK… This code will ensure KOS-MOS only uses maximum output once! Yeah, that’s a great feature!” Whatever.

Start out with EtherShion: One-use-per-battle 9,999-damage attack against all enemies, earned after completing the Robot Part quest. and then use your best attacks. Feel free to use all your good items on this battle. You don’t have another one. But if you’ve been reading this walkthrough, you’re already aware of that.

Everyone has to have a good line to go into battle, then it begins. Actually, most of those lines are pretty dumb. He’s got 16,000 HP, so just wail on him. If he summons Jaldabaoth, beat it with all-enemy attacks like Tech AttackShion: Beam Ether Tech Attack against all enemies. before it can self-destruct. Ratatosk does not block the main target, so you can leave it alone unless your all-enemy attacks take it out anyway.

After this thing dies, you’ll get a whole lot of cutscenes. You’ll get a fun explanation of almost nothing. Take a close look at some of the people you’ll see during this scene. Some of them will appear in the next game. If you would like to mock along with me, read the next section. :D

Mock along with me

Why does MOMO glow when she searches? If there’s no time, why should we hurry…? Does anyone else want to slap MOMO when she starts whining like this? Come to think of it, given the opportunity, I’d rather slap Shion.

“You better make it back! Or I’ll kill you!”

Oh, sorry. I like the “ending-ish” music, but it’s completely out of place. In typical Matthews fashion: “What?” lol. And again, “What?” I wish I was able to “look with my heart.” And more of Matthews’ best dialog, “Huh? What? Hey!”

And now for suspension of disbelief. HOW much does KOS-MOS weigh?!? I like Tony, lol, but does anyone else think that’s just a bit too much like the Millennium Falcon coming out of the Death Star? And more Matthews, “Ya moron!” Another “What?” from the captain…

Hey look! It’s KOS-MOS with her fire-proof hair! All we need now are those funky blue eyes… Whoa, check that out. She does, lol. And what’s that? Wings? Apparently KOS-MOS is the Angel of Reentry.

Now, then. I wanna slap Matthews. How did they survive? The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind. It’s KOS-MOS of the fire-proof hair! w00t! Sorry, I think my lack of excitement got carried away by my sarcastic need to make sense of a rather confusing scene. Don’t worry, though. You’ll understand when you’ve played the other episodes. At least I hope so. Otherwise I’m gonna go beat up some game designers somewhere.

Clear data

FYI: The dude at the grave is Shion’s brother. Save your game data. No really, save it! Then get ready for Episode II.

Or if you really liked it, start again. :)
