Xenosaga Episode I Reference
Status Effects
Read the exact status before choosing a response. Similar names can change different stats, resources, or target types, and Reverse can make an otherwise helpful recovery action hurt you.
Fast status decisions
Situation
Action
Preparing for a known status
Set its specific Guard Skill. Use All Guard when the enemy can apply several different status effects.
One ally is already affected
Use Shion's Refresh or the matching recovery item.
Several allies are affected
Use chaos' Purifying Storm or Cure-All.
Recovery causes damage
Stop healing and remove Reverse first. The status swaps recovery and damage.
A.G.W.S. actions keep failing
Check for a pilot status, Junk Heap, Armor Loss, or Power Loss. Guard Cleaner clears most A.G.W.S. status abnormalities when the pilot Guards.
A stat suddenly drops
Match the displayed status to DEX Guard, EATK Guard, PATK Guard, or PDEF Guard before the next attempt.
