The road out of the mall

Clear the outdoor loop
Step	Action
1	From the mall’s lower-left exit, follow the path down and right.
2	Take the right-hand route first. Defeat the Gnosis and destroy the crate for 1x (Got it:).
3	Continue left around the loop and destroy the next crate for 1x (Got it:). You can extract from it.
4	is at the far left guarding a chest. This fight is optional, but the chest contains , which you need for the .
5	After , return right and take the first path north. At the T intersection, take the left branch and defeat the Fairies guarding the destructible doorway. Destroy it and open the chest for 1x (Got it:).
6	Return to the T intersection and follow the right branch. Destroy the rocks for: 500G (Got it:) 1x (Got it:)
7	Heal, continue north, watch the cut scenes, read the signs, and enter the research complex.

Optional Stribog and Decoder 9

Equip if you have it. Shion’s works on , but Fire and physical attacks are better. Ziggy’s is especially effective.

Strategy	Put Shion in the rear to heal and Boost. Use Ziggy’s or another strong Fire or physical attack. MOMO can steal, then move to the rear to help heal.

Open the chest was guarding and collect . Got it You can open Segment 9 in the full tracker at any time.

The research complex

The use Poison frequently, so set or equip on your active party.

Cross the entry hall
Step	Action
1	Head north and fight the first .
2	Take the left path and destroy the fallen object for 2x (Got it:).
3	Defeat the nearby Fairy, destroy the weird pirate thing holding the chest, and collect 1x (Got it:).
4	Return to the right-hand path. The first and third plant holders are empty; the middle one contains 1x (Got it:).
5	Use the yellow canister against the final Gnosis, then go through the northern door.

Release the elevator

Go slightly up and left to find the ever elusive save point. ;) Took a while this time, didn’t it?

The elevator only drops after you destroy all six safety clamps, one on each side across three levels.

Destroy all six elevator clamps
Step	Action
1	Save, then destroy the two clamps beside the elevator on the current level.
2	Enter the door in the upper left. Follow the left aisle north and destroy the plant for 1x (Got it:).
3	Search the lowest cubicle on the right for 1x (Got it:).
4	Take the rightmost stairs up, go through the door, destroy the right clamp, and press the glowing switch to lower the ladder.
5	Backtrack through the office, take the far-left stairs, and destroy the left clamp on that level.
6	Climb the ladder you lowered and destroy the final two clamps.
7	If the elevator does not drop to the lowest level, you’ve failed to blow up a clamp somewhere. Go back and look for it.

Segment Address 9

Before taking the elevator down, destroy the blue wall panel to the right of the ladder and use the hidden doorway. Open Found it with Got it, collect the , and mark it . You can also open Segment 9 in the full tracker.

Backtrack to the save point and save.

Prepare for Gargoyle

The upcoming fight can be challenging. My party was around level 18. If you’re behind that or the last few fights have been ugly, this is a good time to backtrack to the five-Fairy farming spot and upgrade your Tech Attacks.

Use Shion, KOS-MOS, and MOMO unless someone else can steal. Equip KOS-MOS with the and Shion with the . Make sure MOMO or your other healer has . Gargoyle can inflict Lost, so extract from the for your healer if possible.

Reach the Gargoyle chamber
Step	Action
1	Take the released elevator to the lowest level.
2	Three Gnosis circle the ring clockwise. Wait for a gap, slip in behind one, and follow their patrol if you want to avoid fighting them.
3	At 9 o’clock, destroy the partition and the object behind it for 1x Veil (Got it:).
4	Continue around to the elevator at 6 o’clock and ride it down.
5	Head north, examine the panel to the right of the door, and press the button.
6	Restore everyone’s HP and EP. Set Lightning Ethers, , , and your strongest Tech Attacks before entering the chamber.

Gargoyle and Oudogogue

Gargoyle and 2x Oudogogue

HP / Type	Gargoyle has 3600 HP; each Oudogogue has 1000 HP. All three are Gnosis.
Special	Each Oudogogue can heal Gargoyle for 600 HP and attack the whole party. Gargoyle powers up when each servant dies, can inflict Lost, and can lower Physical Defense.
Steal	Gargoyle has as its rare item and as its normal item. The Oudogogues carry as rare and as normal.
Weak / Absorbs	Gargoyle is weak to Lightning; the Oudogogues are weak to Slash.
Reward	Gargoyle gives 7400 XP, 140 T.Pts, 120 E.Pts, and 60 S.Pts. Each Oudogogue gives 800 XP, 50 T.Pts, 50 E.Pts, and 10 S.Pts.
Drops	Gargoyle drops or the rare . Each Oudogogue drops or the rare .
Strategy	Steal from Gargoyle, then kill both Oudogogues before they can keep healing it. Use against their party-wide attacks. , , and work well on foot. If you use A.G.W.S. units, Guard and , then abandon them before their FHP reaches 0.

If you kill off the little guys first, you’ll make Gargoyle more powerful. On the other hand, if you DON’T kill them off first, they will heal him and hurt you. So… I recommend going after the little guys.

Your A.G.W.S. units are powerful, but they’re really slow compared to your characters at this point. If they don’t work well for you, don’t be afraid to abandon them! can do 400+ damage. After your mechs are badly damaged, discard them before they hit 0 FHP and continue on foot.

If this battle is too tough, load the most recent save, backtrack to the optional level-up area, and level up a bit. I just barely beat these guys with level 18 Shion, Ziggy, and chaos.
