Deck rules worth remembering

SituationActionable rule
Card costsEvery point of cost removes a card from your deck. Use expensive cards to end a game, not merely to make the board look impressive.
E marksA newly played card with an E mark cannot satisfy another card’s requirement until the mark clears.
Playing a Gnosis cardYou must remove a non-E Human from your side. Do not discover this by sacrificing your Lv 10 Shion. Again.
RequirementsKeep inexpensive Humans available; many upper-level cards require at least one Human in play.
Mech eventsMany strong Event cards require two Mech units; KOS-MOS counts as one.
Shion discountsShion must be on the battlefield, not Standby, to make eligible KOS-MOS and VX cards free.
Swimsuit ShionIt does not satisfy effects that specifically require Shion, although normal uniqueness restrictions still apply.
RealiansTheir low cost and relaxed deployment limit make them useful for early board presence and disposable defense.
High-cost cardsBuild around one or two card families; a deck full of expensive “best cards” can fail before meeting their requirements.

Attack types at a glance

AttackWhat it can reach
HandMust attack from the front row and hits the card directly ahead. It cannot reach the opposing deck.
BallisticCan attack from the back row and fires through its lane: front card, rear card, then deck.
SpreadDamages every enemy Battle card but does not hit the deck. Use it to clear a path for something else.
HomingAttacks the opposing deck regardless of cards on the battlefield. Protect these cards if direct deck damage is your plan.
