First exploration
Now it’s time to watch some more cut scenes. Who’s that guy by the nurse-looking Realian? Hmm… Well, we’ll watch more cut scenes. When you are finally back to being Shion, take the curry and head out the lower-left door and talk to Captain Matthews. Heh heh.
Talk to the bar-tending robot here to get the Key ItemUnlocks XenoCard when used at an E.V.S.-enabled save point; received with a Starter Set from the Elsa's robot bartender.. I really like playing this mini-game, but more on that in the XenoCard reference when you’re ready for it.
Head out the upper exit. You should receive an Email from LocationShion’s employer and a recurring investment name. about the E.V.S. Plug-in. You can now use E.V.S.-enabled save points to revisit places you’ve been before. The door straight ahead is your first destination. Search the couch cushions until you find the Key ItemItem required to unlock Slide Deck on Elsa (). The next area up is the passenger cabin. It’s empty now, so go around it and head up and slightly off to the right to save.
If you invested on the LocationThe Federation cruiser used for the opening mission., move around the cabin area until the result Email arrives. Read it and download the attachment. The exact branch rewards and later timing are collected on the Emails and Investments page.
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Head left and down, then enter the elevator and choose B1. |
| 2 | Watch the cut scenes, then blow up the wall panel just north of the elevator for 1x ItemTarget: 1, EP recovery/Low (+10 EP) (). |
| 3 | Ahead and to the right is a door at the top of the screen. In there, destroy the boxes for:
|
| 4 | Ignore the ladder for a moment. Return to the corridor and continue down. |
| 5 | Blast the wall panels to reveal a hidden passage on the left, then destroy its boxes for:
|
| 6 | Back in the large room, destroy the southeast crates for:
|
| 7 | Continue into Lab 1, save, and talk to chaos. |
| 8 | Head down one more screen, take the elevator to the A.G.W.S. Hangar, then go through the south door. |
| 9 | At the bottom of Hangar 2 is a blue chest containing 1x Character AccessoryBeam -20 (Reduce beam dmg by 20%) (). |
| 10 | Use the lift on the left side of the A.G.W.S. Hangar and continue into the Maintenance Lab for more cut scenes. |
| 11 | When Shion is called to the bridge, exit the lab and talk to Tony. He’ll ask for your help finding the Key ItemGive to Tony on the Elsa. We’ll collect the map from Captain Matthews and bring it back shortly. |
Slide Deck and Segment Addresses
Return to Lab 1 and take its north door. Destroy the panels on the west wall to expose SidequestSegment Address 8 is opened with Decoder 8.. You can open Segment 8 in the full tracker at any time.
In the middle of the room is a flashing green light. Use the Key ItemItem required to unlock Slide Deck on Elsa and operate the terminal twice to unlock the Slide Deck. The slide going right has 200G (). The slide going left leads to a secret passage. Blow up everything there for:
- 50G ()
- 1x ItemTarget: All, HP & EP full recovery ()
- 1x Character AccessoryEATK Guard (prevents ether attack down) ()
- Key ItemItem required to open Segment Address No. 10
You can open Segment 10 in the full tracker at any time.
Leave the secret area and continue north and left. Destroy the northwest crates for:
- 5x ItemTarget: 1, +10 E.Pts ()
- 1x ItemTarget: 1, HP recovery/Low (50 HP) ()
- 1x ItemTarget: All, HP & EP full recovery ()
Farther along, take the door on the left to the Catapult Deck. Blow up the first western wall panel to reveal SidequestSegment Address 14 is opened with Decoder 14.. You can open Segment 14 in the full tracker at any time.
The remaining Catapult Deck panels hold:
- 1x Character AccessoryPhysical Defense +12 ()
- 150G ()
- 1x ItemTarget: 1, +50 E.Pts ()
- 100G ()
When you’ve gotten everything, head back through the door on the right and use the upper-right ladder room to return to 1F. Talk to Allen if you want a laugh, save near the passenger cabins, and notice the E.V.S. display above the save point.
E.V.S. returns and the Catapult check
The E.V.S. now lets you revisit previous areas through Menu, U.M.N., E.V.S. You can try the Key ItemUnlocks Driller when used from Key Items at an E.V.S.-enabled save point; permanently missable if Holgar's Woglinde drill tutorial is skipped., Key ItemFound in the blue chest revealed by destroying the Red Vector Box; unlocks the real-time A.G.W.S. Battle minigame at an E.V.S.-enabled save point., or Key ItemUnlocks XenoCard when used at an E.V.S.-enabled save point; received with a Starter Set from the Elsa's robot bartender. here, but the most immediate useful return is the LocationThe opening virtual combat simulator and an E.V.S. return destination.. Use Key ItemItem required to open Segment Address No. 10 on SidequestSegment Address 10 is opened with Decoder 10.. Collect ItemTarget: 1, Boost Gauge +1 in battle x2 and mark it . You can also open Segment 10 in the full tracker.
Technically, you can have Shion go to LocationThe U-TIC facility where Ziggy searches for MOMO. and level up, but don’t forget the level-up dynamics that make that less helpful early on. You can also return to the LocationThe Federation cruiser used for the opening mission. and try the more dangerous enemies if you’d like to farm ItemTarget: 1, EP recovery/Mid (+20 EP) items. Personally, I like to wait until Shion, chaos, and KOS-MOS can go together. The Golems near the entrance are great for farming all four types of points as well as ItemTarget: 1, EP recovery/Mid (+20 EP). Run to the red Segment door and leave quickly to respawn them, then use the red barrel below to give all three characters a starting Boost. This makes the battle WAY quicker and lets you aim for the Golden Egg. This is probably my second-favorite level-up spot.
When you’re ready to continue, head to the bridge. You’ll volunteer to check out the Catapult. Talk to Captain Matthews again to get the Key ItemGive to Tony on the Elsa, then return to Tony in the A.G.W.S. Hangar for a ItemTarget: 1, HP recovery/High (300 HP).
If you have the money, the repair robot can tune your A.G.W.S. UnitFHP 360; DPOW 26; PARM 24; EARM 4; AGL 6; WAGL 0. Shion’s initial A.G.W.S.. Destroy the crates to the left side of the hangar for ItemTarget: 1, +10 E.Pts x5 ().
Return to the Catapult Deck and examine the thing in the middle. You’ll see a cut scene that implies you should do something. Don’t worry, it’s lying. ;) Head to the bottom of the screen to trigger the next Hack This Email, read the follow-up, and reply Cargo Ship Seems Suspicious. See Emails and Investments for the whole chain. Save if you like, and if you want all the fun of a dentist visit, stop off and say hi to KOS-MOS. When you’re ready, return to the bridge.
Guess who’s coming to dinner?
After a bit of a cut scene with Ziggy and MOMO, and even more of a scene with Shion, then more, then more. A little more. A little more… OK. Time to go.
When you first appear as Shion, KOS-MOS, and chaos, you can leave the bridge to shop, save, or use E.V.S. This is a good opportunity to farm Golems on the LocationThe Federation cruiser used for the opening mission. if you want points and ItemTarget: 1, EP recovery/Mid (+20 EP) items. When you’re ready to move on, make sure you unequip all interesting accessories and take the elevator to B1.
Every destructible container in this part of the LocationThe cargo ship that becomes the party’s main transportation hub. has magically restocked. The tracker above keeps this second set separate from the first exploration, because missing one during the attack is much easier when two visits share the same corridors.
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Destroy the wall panel north of the B1 elevator for an ItemTarget: 1, EP recovery/Low (+10 EP) (). |
| 2 | At the T-split, the party activates the floor defenses. |
| 3 | Use the northern route and destroy the upper-room crates for:
|
| 4 | Head down the ladder. |
Area Enemies: Elsa hyperspace attack
- Enemy150 HP; Mechanical type. Weak to Lightning. Rewards: 80 XP; 8 T.Pts; 2 E.Pts; 4 S.Pts. Drops: Scrap Iron; no rare item. Strategy: Its higher physical defense makes Lightning Fist the practical answer while controlling Ziggy and MOMO. Sell the Scrap Iron later.
- Enemy150 HP; Mechanical type. Weak to Lightning. Rewards: 90 XP; 8 T.Pts; 2 E.Pts; 4 S.Pts. Drops: Scrap Iron; no rare item. Strategy: It has higher Ether Attack but lower physical defense than DOMO-A, so remove it first when both types appear. Lightning attacks exploit its weakness.
At the bottom of the ladder, control switches to Ziggy and MOMO. Check their position, equipment, Skills, and Tech Attacks, then head down. These enemies are Mechanical and weak to Lightning, so Ziggy’s Tech AttackZiggy: Lightning Ether Tech Attack against one enemy. is your friend. MOMO’s Tech AttackMOMO: Ether Tech Attack against one enemy. also works well, and EtherMOMO: Medium HP recovery for one ally or enemy. can keep both characters going between battles.
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | On the Catapult Deck, destroy the wall panels for:
|
| 2 | The lower crates contain:
|
Exit through the right-hand door and reunite with Shion, KOS-MOS, and chaos. You now have all five characters. Open Battle Formation and choose the three you want to use. I used Shion, chaos, and Ziggy for the next stretch.
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | From the regroup point, head down and left past the crossroads. |
| 2 | Destroy the southwest crates for:
|
| 3 | Return to the crossroads and take the right slide for a ItemTarget: All, HP & EP full recovery (). |
| 4 | Take the west stairs for:
|
| 5 | Return to Lab 1 and save. Leave the electromagnetic floor switched on. It slows you down, but it also pins the enemies in place. |
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Through the east door, the southeast crates contain:
|
| 2 | At the top of the stairs is a ItemTarget: 1, HP recovery/Mid (150 HP) (). |
| 3 | Destroy the western wall panel for 1x ItemTarget: 1, Escape from battle (). This also reveals a hidden passage. |
| 4 | At the end of the passage are:
|
DOMO Carrier
Return to Lab 1 and save. Head south through the A.G.W.S. Hangar, walking with R2 if you want to avoid the enemies. Destroy the western crates behind the A.G.W.S. pods for ItemTarget: 1, +10 E.Pts x5 (), then continue south into Hangar 2.
Before approaching the Boss1,800 HP; Mechanical type. Weak to Lightning. Rewards: 4500 XP; 80 T.Pts; 20 E.Pts; 40 S.Pts; 0G. Drops: Anti-Beam Armor; no rare item. Strategy: Build several Boosts and jump ahead whenever DOMO Carrier is about to act in its stored event slot. Heal after Tremor, use Lightning attacks, and chain turns below half HP so it cannot keep restoring 600 HP., check everyone’s equipment, Ether, Skills, and Tech Attacks. Shion’s Tech AttackShion: Pierce Tech Attack whose equipped cartridge determines its status effect. can inflict Slow on Mechanical enemies when she has the default Character AmmoShion M.W.S. cartridge: Shock Blade can Slow Mechanical enemies. ammo equipped. I recommend Shion, chaos, and KOS-MOS on foot.
Boss Fight: DOMO Carrier
| HP / Type | 1800 HP; Mechanical. |
|---|---|
| Special | It records the opening event-slot type and uses Tremor whenever it later receives a turn in that slot. At low HP it can heal itself for 600 HP. |
| Steal | n/a; the recommended party has no stealing ability. |
| Weak / Absorbs | Weak to Lightning; no absorb reported. |
| Reward | 4500 XP; 80 T.Pts; 20 E.Pts; 40 S.Pts; 0G. |
| Drops | A.G.W.S. Accessory-25% Beam DMG; no rare item reported. |
| Strategy | Use Shion, KOS-MOS, and chaos on foot. Build at least three Boosts, keep one Boost available, and jump ahead whenever DOMO Carrier is about to act in its stored Battle SystemTurn-based slot that cycles through blank, Critical Rate Up, Boost Gauge Up, and Points Up states.. Heal after Tremor, use Lightning attacks, and chain turns once its HP is low so it cannot heal. |
Don’t let him place Tremor in the critical-hit slot. That just sucks. Also, don’t use the A.G.W.S. Let Shion and chaos, or KOS-MOS, build at least three Boosts, then attack back to back. Use Battle SystemBattle resource used to insert an eligible character's turn into the order. to jump in if the Boss1,800 HP; Mechanical type. Weak to Lightning. Rewards: 4500 XP; 80 T.Pts; 20 E.Pts; 40 S.Pts; 0G. Drops: Anti-Beam Armor; no rare item. Strategy: Build several Boosts and jump ahead whenever DOMO Carrier is about to act in its stored event slot. Heal after Tremor, use Lightning attacks, and chain turns below half HP so it cannot keep restoring 600 HP. is about to use Tremor. If you transferred EtherShion: Low HP recovery for one ally or enemy. or EtherShion: Medium HP recovery for all allies. from Shion to KOS-MOS, everyone can help with healing. chaos can heal everyone and take a lot of damage, which is why I think he’s a good one to have along.
Tour the Elsa
After the battle, you’ll get the A.G.W.S. Accessory-25% Beam DMG and watch a bunch more cut scenes. Eventually, you’ll control Shion, Ziggy, and MOMO. Head up and right into the kitchen, then go to Shion’s cabin. Decline to call it a night. Visit the other cabin, save at the U.M.N. port, and show them the bridge.
Take the elevator to B1 and show them Lab 1, the A.G.W.S. Hangar, Hangar 2 where you fought the Boss1,800 HP; Mechanical type. Weak to Lightning. Rewards: 4500 XP; 80 T.Pts; 20 E.Pts; 40 S.Pts; 0G. Drops: Anti-Beam Armor; no rare item. Strategy: Build several Boosts and jump ahead whenever DOMO Carrier is about to act in its stored event slot. Heal after Tremor, use Lightning attacks, and chain turns below half HP so it cannot keep restoring 600 HP., the Maintenance Lab, and the Catapult Deck. The investment dividend Email may trigger near Lab 1, and the next investment offer may trigger near the Catapult controls. Follow the route rather than waiting on one screen forever; the Emails and Investments page keeps the complete chain together.
Despite the fact that the hangar boxes refreshed, you can’t collect them after the battle. That’s why the restock tracker puts the hangar pickup before the Boss1,800 HP; Mechanical type. Weak to Lightning. Rewards: 4500 XP; 80 T.Pts; 20 E.Pts; 40 S.Pts; 0G. Drops: Anti-Beam Armor; no rare item. Strategy: Build several Boosts and jump ahead whenever DOMO Carrier is about to act in its stored event slot. Heal after Tremor, use Lightning attacks, and chain turns below half HP so it cannot keep restoring 600 HP..
You can still use E.V.S. before sleeping, now with MOMO and Ziggy available. Finish any immediate returns, then go back to Shion’s cabin and choose Call it a day. Watch the cut scenes and save when prompted. The next route begins on the U-TIC Battleship.
