Final Fantasy XII Walkthrough
Golmore Jungle and Eruyt Village
Before Golmore Jungle
If you were following along on Ozmone Plain and Jahara, you can see how to level up here. If you have NOT done the hunt/mark sidequests at this point, you really should. By way of comparison, I like to have completed all possible hunt side quests at this time. That generally means my guys are around level 36, and THAT makes the upcoming battles quite a bit easier. Hopefully you picked up the Golden Amulets well before this section, but if not, you can get them later on.
New Hunts After Jahara
White Mousse and Ring Wyrm become available after the Great-chief audience. Both are completely optional and safe to defer. White Mousse is a much more manageable Rank V than Marilith, but it is still a serious fight; Ring Wyrm has an enormous HP pool and requires a Westersand sandstorm.
Head into Golmore at the far eastern edge of the Ozmone Plain. There’s a Save Crystal just before the entrance, but your guys will walk into the area. You’ll watch a bunch of cutscenes. Do you ever wonder how some of these Judges can see? I mean, Judge Zargabaath has NO eye holes in front of his eyes. They’re on TOP of his head. Is he some kind of frog-creature, or did the game designers take a bit of artistic license. Wait - I’ve got it! Maybe the game designers partook of too many frogs… Or, um, maybe not. I dunno. Sorry, I get carried away like that sometimes. Let’s continue, shall we?
Golmore Jungle
After the cutscenes, you’ll be in the Sunlit Path, the area with the Save Crystal. You’ll have to dismount if you wish to save, but otherwise you can pretty much pay things no mind, here. Head into the Golmore Jungle. If you haven’t been here before, you’ll be treated to the “new area” cutscene.
If you do not have the full map, take the first left, then the first right, and open the Urn at the “T” junction. Then/otherwise, take whatever path you want and go as far east as you can. You may have to examine all the blocked walls, though. Eventually, you’ll watch a cutscene, then you’ll head to the Viera Village.
Eruyt Village
Follow the path in front of you to the ??? ahead. Welcome to Eruyt Village. Save, then go and find Mjrn. You can buy a map from Lulucce, if you really need it, then talk to Tetran. You can sell/buy here. At the VERY least, buy White Magick28 MP. Restores a large amount of HP to one ally and damages an undead target. and Time Magick / Status Effect20 MP. Lets all targets in range cross traps safely and avoid Earth-elemental Magick.. If you have to teleport out and do some leveling up to be able to afford stuff, go ahead and do it - it’s worth it for these Magicks.
See the Eruyt Village shop priorities before spending everything. Curaga is the major healing upgrade; White Magick24 MP. Removes many common negative statuses from one ally, but not every condition., Float, and a AccessoryMakes the wearer immune to Disable. also prepare the party for Henne Mines.
Bazaar and Optional Errands
Golmore’s EnemyA passive Wind-weak Golmore Jungle enemy; collect two Lumber for Burning Blade, but expect it to fight back once provoked. and EnemyA Wind-weak Golmore Jungle enemy; its Malboro Vines unlock Burning Blade and Smelling Salts, &c., so collect four before buying either package. can unlock Bazaar GoodSell Fire Stone ×6, Lumber ×2, Malboro Vine ×2 to unlock Flametongue for 4,680 gil. Buying it resets the counters for every listed ingredient. If you want both, collect four LootRequired for Burning Blade (2 sold) and Smelling Salts, &c. (4 sold) in the Bazaar. and two LootTreant Loot; sell two with two Malboro Vines and six Fire Stones to unlock Burning Blade. before buying either package. See the Golmore Jungle and Eruyt Village Bazaar checkpoint for the efficient selling order.
You can start the Bhujerban Madhu sidequest now. I’d recommend completing the Barheim Passage sidequest now, though, to ensure you have enough gil. If you do that, you can now visit the Mosphoran Highwaste and the Salikawood. Then, you can steal LootMandragora-family Loot used in Potion Crate and Samurai’s Katana. Shared Bazaar counters can consume it across recipes, so sell only the quantity required for the package you want. and LootMalboro-family Loot used in the Survival Set Bazaar package; collect only what the planned recipe needs., which will put some really nice concoction packages in the Shop SystemSelling Loot increments hidden ingredient counters and unlocks packages; buying a package resets every ingredient counter it used.. If you leave the Mosphoran Highwaste via the lower southeast exit, you’ll end up at Nalbina Fortress, but you won’t be able to come back unless you buy a chocobo. Well, see the July in Nalbina sidequest. When you’re done exploring the passage, head back here to Eruyt Village.
Jote and Lente’s Tear
Head into the village, and make your way along the path to CharacterEruyt Village’s elder and Fran’s sister. Speak with her at Fane of the Path to learn that Mjrn entered Henne Mines; after the rescue, Jote gives the party Lente’s Tear for the sealed Golmore route. at the far north end of the village. After the little discussion there, talk to Hala, the Salve-Maker. You’ll learn that only one in possession of Key ItemAllows the party to pass the sealed barriers in Golmore Jungle. may pass. Leave that area, and for that matter, the wood. In all fairness, though, I don’t think it was that rude of Vaan to ask her age. If you really want to see rude, just look at how the village treated Vaan. I guess I think it’s a fair question. The designers COULD have come up with a worse question to ask. Anyway, head back to the Golmore Jungle and return to the Ozmone Plain.
Chocobo Route to Henne Mines
You can get to the Henne Mines via chocobo. When you first get to the Ozmone Plain, you’ll be in the Sunlit Path with the Save Crystal. Talk to the Imperials there and give the wounded Imperial a ItemRestores 100 HP before Potion Lore and item-effect bonuses..
When you can next come back by here, and they’re gone, search this area for a note of thanks and two ItemRemoves Sleep from one target.. That was supposed to be ominous. We were attacked and barely made it out alive!
Head inside, and you’ll auto-dismount. Nah, but you’ll see some cutscenes that’ll make you think you did. ;) Anyway, grab any chests in this area, then head inside the cave. After the cutscene, head back.
