Rabanastre and Bhujerba Errands

When you notice the Wandering Viera hanging around Rabanastre’s southern area, you can talk to her. She should wander off.

Talk to the Lovestruck Man by the fountain. He’ll tell you there’s another Viera in Rabanastre, inside a building in North End. Remember Ktjn? Nah, I’m pulling your leg.

Head to the Gambit shop and talk to the Wandering Viera who’s leaning against the left wall. Don’t listen to her lies! You’re not spoken for. Well, I dunno, but I do wish she could tell us who Vaan should date, cause apparently there’s no consensus. ;)

She’s heading to the Sandsea, so go talk to her. She’s sitting on the rail along the upper floor. Don’t ask me; I don’t know why. She asks you to help find “the someone just for her.” Wait, there’s something wrong with that phrase. ;)

Let’s go back to the fountain and talk to the dude there. Accept his request, and go back to the Sandsea.

Talk to the Wandering Viera, and notice how she runs off. This is getting weirder all the time. :D Go talk to her again at the fountain, and you’ll get two Hi-PotionsItemRestores 400 HP before Potion Lore and item-effect bonuses.. Oh, and you’ll get a Loxley BowWeapon: Bow51 Attack, requires Bows 3, and costs 5,200 gil later; the Vaan Juan matchmaker errand awards it much earlier, but it still needs arrows and its License.. A Viera in Rabanastre

This is the separate, long-running Ktjn sidequest, not the Lovestruck Man sequence above.

On the stairs to Muthru BazaarShop SystemSelling Loot increments hidden ingredient counters and unlocks packages; buying a package resets every ingredient counter it used. in Rabanastre is a Viera woman. Talk to Ktjn until she repeats herself any time you pass through Rabanastre. You’ll learn a bit more about the Viera, and it will explain a bit of the plot.

The answers across her four conversations affect her final location and reward. Consistently supportive answers can produce a Fuzzy MiterAccessoryMakes the wearer immune to Petrify. in Migelo’s Sundries, while consistently dismissive answers can produce a Platinum SwordWeapon: Sword70 Attack and 5 Evade, and requires Swords 4 for 40 LP. Ktjn can award it long before shops normally sell it, so learn the License before expecting to equip the reward. in Clan Hall. Middle results can instead produce a Paramina CrossbowWeapon: Crossbow52 Attack and 5 Evade, and requires Crossbows 2 plus equipped bolts. Ktjn can award it before normal shop availability; remember that crossbow accuracy falls during bad weather., an EtherItemRestores 50 MP before Ether Lore and item-effect bonuses. with two Hi-PotionsItemRestores 400 HP before Potion Lore and item-effect bonuses., or a FireflyAccessoryAdds 2 Strength but reduces the wearer’s earned EXP to 0., so do not choose blindly if you want a particular reward.

Pilika’s Diary

After completing Rocktoise, talk to Pilika twice to start another sidequest. He’ll tell you he left his diary on the second floor of Clio’s Technicks.

Go and get it. You’ll automatically wear the Merchant’s Armband to get in. The diary is on top of a barrel. Return it to Pilika for a Kilimweave ShirtMystic ArmorEarly Mystic Armor body gear available as a rare Zombie Steal in Barheim; it is most useful on a character whose healing or offensive Magick matters. if you read it and tell the truth or leave it unread and say you read it. Reading it and then lying earns a Shepherd’s BoleroMystic ArmorEarly Mystic Armor body gear available from Pilika’s Diary; its Magick-oriented stat boosts are useful when they improve a healer or offensive caster. instead.

Bhujerban Madhu

After obtaining the Dawn ShardKey Item / AccessoryRoute Key Item that can be equipped for +20 Magick Resist but reduces the wearer’s MP to 0., you can collect fourteen bottles of Bhujerban MadhuLootOne of fourteen bottles hidden around Bhujerba; match each bottle to a local buyer for 1,000 gil instead of selling it to a shop for 250 gil. around Bhujerba. Each bottle has a local buyer who will pay 1,000 gil. A shop pays only 250 gil, so don’t dump these in with your ordinary Loot.

The Staras Residence pair waits behind the later Antlion hunt. Collect the other thirteen now and return for that pair; do not rely on another bottle replacing the inaccessible pair.

July in Nalbina

Do this after obtaining the Dawn ShardKey Item / AccessoryRoute Key Item that can be equipped for +20 Magick Resist but reduces the wearer’s MP to 0.. The first half has a later cutoff, and completing it opens the northern route from Nalbina immediately.

1. Teleport to Nalbina Town and talk to July, the woman crouching near the West Barbican Gate CrystalField MechanicA Save Crystal that also enables Teleport Stone travel to other activated Gate Crystals..
2. Approach the two Imperial guards, Gibbs and Deweg, and listen to their problem.
3. Rent a chocobo from Gurdy, then ride between the guards. They’ll leave their post.
4. Talk to July again. She’ll go to Archades, and the way into the Mosphoran Highwaste is now open.

Much later, find July in Charlotte’s Magickery in Archades. She rewards the party with a Salamand HalcyonLootRequired for Late-model Rifle (1 sold) in the Bazaar..
