Final Fantasy X Walkthrough
Thunder Plains
When you leave Guadosalam, you’ll be wandering out onto the Thunder Plains. If you time it right, you can jump out of the way of lightning bolts. This is considered a “minigame,” so you may want to practice it for a bit. Depending on how many bolts you can jump from, you can get cool prizes later.
There is another sidequest here involving the Qactuar Stones, but I recommend waiting a little before attempting either one seriously. The Thunder Plains Challenges page has the 200-dodge route, the complete prize table, and Kimahri’s Spirit Lance quest. For now, just head straight out onto the plains. Getting smooshed by a bolt only knocks Tidus backward; it doesn’t hurt the party.

Rin’s Travel Agency
When it looks like you can go two directions, take the left one. You can rest there. Not that you will have a choice. :) Talk to Rikku and Rin will appear. Talk to him and say your study is “Okay” to receive Key ItemOne of 26 volumes that progressively translates the Al Bhed language.. Tell Rin that the man sitting nearby is Auron to learn a little more about Auron’s past. Be sure to read the book on the counter too. It explains High Summoner Gandof and allows the glowing Qactuar Stones to activate for the Spirit Lance quest.
The Travel Agency shops carry the same general stock you just saw in Guadosalam without the markup, so this is the better place to buy. Follow Yuna down the right hallway when you are ready, enjoy Tidus’s graceful entrance, talk to Rikku again afterward, and leave through the north door.
Some guy will run by and take your picture. When he’s gone, pick up the EquipmentTidus armor dropped outside the Thunder Plains Travel Agency with Lightningproof. he dropped on the ground. Eventually, Yuna will ask to talk to everyone. When the scene leaves you beneath the big shelter, go around its left side for a chest containing an ItemRestores 100 MP to one character.. Follow the left cliff farther north to a chest near the craters containing a ItemRemoves most standard status ailments from one character.. Then cross all the way to the right side of the canyon; just north of the small pool is a chest containing 2,000 Gil.
There are Qactuar Stones scattered all over this half too, but you may want to be a little more powerful before turning the route into a sidequest. If you follow my strategy, you’ll be coming back here to gather fiends in a little while, so you’re not really missing anything. Continue north into Macalania Woods.
