Final Fantasy X Walkthrough
Opening Zanarkand
When the game opens, you will see a cutscene. This scene actually takes place later in the game, so if you don’t understand what is going on, don’t worry. At least try to pay attention to it, though. So… listen to his story. ;)
Meet Tidus
You are next transported to a place with cool techno-ish music. You gotta love that FF1 harp, don’t ya? You are the guy at the top of the screen. His name is Tidus. For the sake of everyone’s sanity, I will not change the names of any characters or Battle SystemA summoned ally that replaces the active party until it is dismissed, defeated, or wins the battle.. It just makes it easier.
Walk around a bit to get accustomed to the controls. Oh, and don’t try to go through that door. It’s locked. (For now.) Walk toward the bottom of the screen and talk to the people asking for autographs. This is where you can rename Tidus; the guide will continue using his default name. You will also learn a little bit about his background.
Head to the bottom of the screen to start the next cutscene, then walk up and to the right toward the stadium while the announcer explains what is going on. Near the beginning of the overpass, look for a girl in a pink shirt running around and complaining about tickets. Keep talking to her until she asks whether you have any, then promise her tickets to receive two ItemRestores 200 HP to one character.. You don’t need to find an actual ticket first. Apparently Tidus’s autograph economy runs entirely on optimism.
Continue toward the stadium. When the crowd swallows Tidus, keep pushing toward the entrance; you do not need to locate him under every screaming fan. Once you get inside, the next cutscene starts. This is a MinigameSpira's underwater team sport and recurring minigame; successful actions earn player EXP, and later prizes include Wakka's Overdrives and Celestial Weapon components. game, but it is not a playable MinigameSpira's underwater team sport and recurring minigame; successful actions earn player EXP, and later prizes include Wakka's Overdrives and Celestial Weapon components. match. Just enjoy the show until Zanarkand’s evening becomes somewhat less festive.
Meet Auron; meet Sin
Don’t worry if what just happened didn’t make a lot of sense. When Tidus wakes up, walk down what’s left of the street until you meet Auron, then follow him and talk to the kid.
Tidus will run to catch up with Auron, and you’ll see Sin for the first time. Auron hands Tidus a sword, and then you have to battle through the FiendA small creature shed from Sin's body; in the opening battles, flickering wings warn that one is preparing Spines.. In the first fight, kill the enemies in front of you. The ones behind Tidus and Auron keep being replaced, and this tutorial crowd is not worth trying to farm.
Sinspawn Ammes
This part of the tutorial teaches you how battles work. It’s kind of hard to actually lose this battle, so take the time to learn how your overdrives work. For Auron’s first attack, press left to open the second command menu and select OverdriveAuron's Overdrive command; entering the displayed button sequence before time expires improves the selected technique. → OverdriveAuron's starting Bushido technique, which attacks every enemy and gains damage and delay when its input sequence is completed correctly.. Enter the displayed button sequence before time expires. The FiendA small creature shed from Sin's body; in the opening battles, flickering wings warn that one is preparing Spines. will die even if the input is imperfect, but this is a good time to learn how OverdriveAuron's Overdrive command; entering the displayed button sequence before time expires improves the selected technique. works.
Sinspawn Ammes uses only Blk MagicDeals Gravity damage equal to one quarter of each enemy's current HP., which removes one quarter of each target’s current HP and cannot kill anyone, so don’t worry about healing. Keep attacking Ammes. When Tidus’s Battle SystemCharacter or aeon special attack resource charged according to the active Overdrive mode. gauge fills, use OverdriveTidus's Overdrive command; using its techniques unlocks additional Swordplay attacks over time. → OverdriveTidus's starting Swordplay technique; stopping the moving marker inside the highlighted center before time expires increases its damage. and press the displayed confirm button while the moving marker is inside the highlighted center of the bar for extra damage. Ammes will keep casting Blk MagicDeals Gravity damage equal to one quarter of each enemy's current HP. and making the HP numbers look scary, but he cannot finish either character. Keep hitting him until he explodes, then follow Auron behind him.
Meet the Save Sphere
You should see a shiny globe along the overpass. This device does quite a few things. Most importantly, it allows you to save your game. It also restores all HP and MP. If you accidentally skip it, you can use ItemRestores 200 HP to one character. as your first action during the upcoming battle, but touching the sphere is free and considerably less silly.
Follow Auron and fight more FiendA small creature shed from Sin's body; in the opening battles, flickering wings warn that one is preparing Spines.. Focus first on killing enemies whose wings start to flicker; those enemies are preparing Spines, and letting several finish at once can kill you. When Auron tells you to change targets, start beating up the Tanker hanging off the right side of the bridge. This will probably take at least two or three hits from each character. Destroying it ends the fight in the most understated explosion Zanarkand could arrange.
After the cutscenes, hold the displayed descend button (Circle on the original PlayStation 2 controls) to swim downward. You’ll see Tidus as a child, then regain control in the water. Swim toward the person standing on the platform.
