Best Bribes

Special AbilityOffers Gil to make a fiend leave battle and surrender its Bribe item reward; failed offers remain in that fiend's running total. lets a character hand a fiend a pile of Gil and politely suggest that it become someone else’s problem. If the fiend accepts, it leaves behind its Bribe item instead of the normal battle rewards. This is one of the best ways to buy rare customization materials in bulk, but it is also an excellent way to turn hours of Mimic farming into two ItemRare customization material and Use item that deals 13,000 damage to all enemies regardless of Break Damage Limit. and a powerful sense of regret.

This page is not a list of every legal Bribe. It is the short list of deals that solve an actual problem, along with a list of some expensive offers that look better at first glance than they actually probably are.

Before You Spend a Single Gil

The amounts and expected quantities below use the original North American PlayStation 2 reference values used throughout this guide. Those tables generally list an offer equal to twenty times the fiend’s maximum HP. English-release results vary: the listed offer can fail, the item quantity can wander, and the commonly documented certain first-offer ceiling is twenty-five times maximum HP.

If a reasonable offer fails, the money is not forgotten. It remains in that fiend’s running Bribe total, so repeated 1-Gil offers give it more chances to accept without making you pay the entire amount again. Save before any expensive or one-time Bribe anyway. A sleeping fiend cannot accept, and that is a remarkably efficient way to lose a mountain of Gil.

Ultima Weapon’s One-Time Deal

BossOne-time Omega Ruins boss that can be fought normally or bribed for a large supply of Pendulums. is the absurd exception that makes the whole Bribe command look generous. Financing This Nonsense

The Omega Ruins are the obvious Bribe bank. Mimics award 50,000 Gil, or 100,000 Gil when an active character has Equipment AbilityDoubles Gil received after battles when the equipped character is in the active party at victory.. Rikku’s powered Godhand supplies that ability without spending 30 ItemRare Mix material used to customize Gillionaire.. Once One-Eye is easy to farm, selling unwanted Equipment AbilityTriples AP earned by the character wearing the weapon while that character is active when the enemy is defeated. equipment becomes another strong source of cash.

Save before a large Bribe, write down what you are trying to build, and stop when you have enough. “Enough” is an important number in a system willing to accept two million Gil for something your capture checklist was about to hand you for free.
