At Esto Gaza, talk to the Priest. Make sure you have at least 25 ItemRemove Status Effect: Virus, and check for any new weapons. Even if you came here before - their stock has changed since the last time you came through here and you really want Vivi to get an EquipmentWeapon for Dagger so he can learn Firaga / Blizzaga / Thundaga. When you are done shopping, equip new stuff then head left one screen then up one screen. Talk to Mogrika and mognet/ItemIf used in battle, inflicts Silence, Darkness and Poison. Mount Gulug
NOTE: If you run across a EnemyFixed Mount Gulug enemy. Weak to Ice and Wind, immune to Earth, and takes half damage from Fire. Steal: Tent, Ether, Elixir. Can be eaten by Quina to learn Twister., try to steal an ItemFully restores one character's HP and MP.. I was able to grab 6 during this section.
When you first enter the mountain, go left into the little hut there. Examine the floor on the bottom right for 9693 Gil, then search the far left for information, then go up the ladder and search upstairs for an ItemRestore MP (150 if in battle, 100 otherwise). Go left one screen then head down the ladder. Examine the upper right of the platform for a EquipmentHead Armor for: All except Knights then backtrack to the beginning of the level.
This time, go right into the hut (you’ll see something large fly by). Continue right and pass the rope ladder. Examine the path at the end to climb up. Go all the way right and into the cave. Follow the path along and open the chest at the crossroads for a EquipmentHead Armor for: All except Knights. You can also inspect the lamp here to get more information about the area. Backtrack and go down the rope ladder, then head right to find Moolan.
In the bottom right corner of this room is a EquipmentCan be Thrown by Amarant. Continue right a few screens and wind up the stairs (there’s another bulletin board here) and back the way you came. At the end of the path, pick up the EquipmentArmor for: All except Knights, then head back past the rope to your left. The next house you come to has a chest with a EquipmentArmor for: Knights Only and a note telling you that you have to pull the lever three times to make it work. Just outside the door is a cave leading up. Go in there and give Mogtaka a letter. You can also continue on a little further and fight more red dragons. There’s a chest here with another ItemFully restores one character's HP and MP., too. I had a couple of characters that had nothing to learn at this point, so I backtracked and swapped them out.
When you are ready to go on, head back to the rope and pull the lever down three times. Hop on the rope and slide down. Fight more red dragons then…
Boss Fight Prep
Equip Antibody to prevent Venom, and have ItemRemove Status Effect: Virus ready for Virus. You’ll eventually have to fight BossMount Gulug boss. Weak to Fire and Holy and takes half damage from Shadow. Steal: Vaccine, Golden Hairpin, Demon's Vest. Drops a Vaccine; rewards 11 AP and 6,428 Gil..
When you’re ready to fight, head out the hole opened up by the EnemyFixed Mount Gulug enemy. Weak to Ice and Wind, immune to Earth, and takes half damage from Fire. Steal: Tent, Ether, Elixir. Can be eaten by Quina to learn Twister.. Steal if you want, but you probably have all of this equipment anyway. Holy is your friend during this battle. Use a ItemRemove Status Effect: Virus if anyone gets hit with Virus; they won’t receive EXP or AP from battles until you clear it.
After the battle and cut scenes, you’ll want to make sure to use a ItemRemove Status Effect: Virus on anyone who needs it to clear the virus status abnormality. You did buy them when I recommended it, right? If not, you better go do it now, because ItemRemove Status Effect: Stop, Poison, Venom, Mini, Gradual Petrify, Silence, Darkness doesn’t work on that. You’ll eventually meet up with Hilda and return to…
