Final Fantasy IX

Blue Magic

Throughout the game, Quina will be able to eat enemies that are nearly dead. If it’s a certain kind of enemy, and if he hasn’t learned it already, Quina will learn a cool spell that can be used in battle later on. These are referred to as “Blue Magic” in FF9. Here are the spells he can learn, when you can start looking for them, where to get them, what they do and how much they cost (in MP) to use.

Quina’s Eat command works when the target is weak enough, so if you are not getting the command to work yet, hit the enemy a little more gently. In SystemFF9 limit-break-like state that temporarily enhances character commands., Cook gives you a little more room to work with, which is about as fancy as Quina’s battle planning ever needs to get.
