Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete Walkthrough
Meribia and the Sewers
Welcome to Town
Nash and Ramus will leave and you can wander around town with Luna. This is a good place to wander around and talk to folks but avoid crossing the drawbridge at the top center of the screen for now. If you head up you can find an item shop and a weapon shop. I sold all 10 × Recovery ItemRestores a small amount of HP to one ally. and bought 3 × Recovery ItemRestores more HP than an Herb to one ally.. At the weapon shop, you can get the WeaponEquippable by Alex, Kyle. Attack +16. for Alex and the WeaponEquippable by Luna, Ramus, Nash. Attack +10. for Luna (if you missed them earlier.) You can also buy a WeaponEquippable by Mia, Nash. Attack +28., which will be handy the next time you’re paired up with Nash. If you keep going left, you’ll find an armor shop where you can buy a HeadgearEquippable by Luna, Mia, Jessica. Defense +3. for Luna, and Body ArmorEquippable by Alex, Ramus, Kyle. Defense +13., an ShieldEquippable by Alex, Ramus, Kyle. Defense +5., and an HeadgearEquippable by Alex, Ramus, Kyle. Defense +5. for Alex. Just left and up from there is another weapon shop. You can upgrade Alex to a WeaponEquippable by Alex, Kyle. Attack +21. and Luna to a WeaponEquippable by Luna, Ramus, Nash. Attack +20.. See Shops for the complete stock and prices. The town exit is at the top of this screen, but you can’t leave now so head left instead.
The middle of the three houses below Ramus’ future shop contains LocationPort city reached after leaving Caldor Isle. locked red treasure chest. It holds 1,000 Silver, but you cannot open it yet.
Black Rose Street
This area has an item shop where you can buy one or more Recovery ItemRestores a limited amount of MP to one ally. to replenish any you had to use during the slime battle earlier. I like to keep 2 or 3 on hand at this point in the game - just in case. There are other shops here, but they don’t all sell things you’d really want (magical toothbrush anyone?) The armor shop, however, sells armor for Luna. If you can afford it, pick up a Robe and a Armlet / BraceletEquippable by Luna, Mia, Jessica. Defense +4.. When you’re done shopping, head all the way left and up into the little house there. After the cut scene, talk to Nash and Royce, then leave the shop. Remember how I said to avoid the drawbridge at the top middle of the previous screen? You can go there now.
Mel’s House
Head to the screen right of LocationMeribia shopping district associated with Royce and several shops. and head right, then up. Cross the drawbridge and enter Mel’s palace. Talk to everyone here and eventually you’ll fight Master Mel.
Master Mel
If you have a bunch of Recovery ItemRestores more HP than an Herb to one ally. items you might win, but it’s not really worth it. If you lose, have Luna heal you up. When done, go to the item shop and buy a Key ItemReturns the party to a dungeon entrance., if you don’t already have one. Leave and go back to find Ramus. Agree to the 20,000 Silver offer, then head into the back room when given the chance. Head right and down, then enter…

See the blue button on the wall to your right? Press that to extend the bridge that will let you progress. Feel free to talk to folks here, then head down across the bridge. This is a good place to level grind, if you like. You can leave the sewers, then leave the building and go up and right to find the statue to heal up. You can also equip Ramus with Body ArmorEquippable by Alex, Ramus, Kyle. Defense +13. and an ShieldEquippable by Alex, Ramus, Kyle. Defense +5., and you can buy him a WeaponEquippable by Luna, Ramus, Nash. Attack +20.. If you get into trouble down here, you can use the Key ItemReturns the party to a dungeon entrance. to warp to the start of the dungeon - just be sure you buy another one if that was your last!
Head down and right, and use the blue button to drop another bridge. There’s a place to the right where you can go down through a building and obtain a Recovery ItemRestores a limited amount of MP to one ally. (). From there, head back up, then left and down. There’s another chest here with another Recovery ItemRestores a limited amount of MP to one ally. (). Grab that then head down. You’ll come to a spot where there are seven paths leading down, blocked by fish. The fish give decent XP if you’re a high enough level, but if not you can try to avoid them. Here’s what’s down each branch:
- Nothing.
- A switch, followed by a chest with 1 × Recovery ItemRestores a small amount of HP to one ally. (). After grabbing the item, head right and press the button to drop a bridge. Cross the bridge and press the blue button on the right to open up path 5. Backtrack to path 5 and cross over.
- Nothing.
- Nothing.
- A blocked path until you flip the switch in path 2.
- Nothing.
- A chest with 250 Silver ().
Down and right from the bridge you’ll find a box with a Recovery ItemRestores a small amount of HP to one ally. (). Grab that and head up the path just to the right of the bridge you just came across. There’s another chest at the end of that path with 250 Silver (). Return to the bridge and this time head right, go through the doorway, and head up. Fight through some pretty tough enemies, and at the top of the screen head right and down, then through the doorway. Grab the three chests here for 2 × Recovery ItemCures Poison. () () and 1 × Recovery ItemRestores a limited amount of MP to one ally. ().
Option: Level Up
If you can stand to level grind here, getting Alex up to Level 18 can be very lucrative in the upcoming Cave of Trial. As in, you can earn nearly 300 XP and over 2,000 Silver each battle - plus have the possibility of obtaining a AccessoryEquippable by everyone. Defense +2; Agility +10. Raises Agility. that provides +2 Defense and +10 Agility!
Water Dragon
Warning: Boss fight! As soon as you talk to the thief there you’re going to get dragged into a nasty boss fight. This guy can attack anyone in the front row with a majorly powerful fire attack. Open the menu, select Nall, and use the MechanicStarting positions affect travel distance, target access, and area attacks during battle. tab to move everyone to the back row. In terms of items, give both Ramus and Luna 2 × Recovery ItemRestores a limited amount of MP to one ally., 2 × Recovery ItemCures Poison., and 1 × Recovery ItemRestores more HP than an Herb to one ally.. Save your game, then talk to the thief.
Here is my standard battle plan:
- Alex: Use MagicAlex's 10 MP ability raises Alex's attack power, affecting Alex., then use MagicAlex's 6 MP ability delivers a rapid series of sword strikes, affecting one enemy..
- Luna: Use MagicLuna's 10 MP ability raises attack and defense, affecting one ally. on Ramus, then Alex, then Luna. Heal as needed.
- Ramus: Use Antidotes if anyone is poisoned, throw a Recovery ItemRestores a limited amount of MP to one ally. or Recovery ItemRestores more HP than an Herb to one ally. to Alex or Luna if needed, and finally attack if there’s nothing else to do.
Using this method you should get through here with little trouble.
When you have control again, use the Key ItemReturns the party to a dungeon entrance. to warp to the start of the dungeon, then head through the door at the top of the screen, return to the shop, and talk to Dross. When you have control again, check everyone’s equipment, replenish any items you need, and use the statue of Althena to heal up.
